The Communauté de communes Cœur de l'Avesnois is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It was founded on May 30, 2013 and comprises 43 parishes. The administrative headquarters are located in Avesnes-sur-Helpe .

Historical development

The community association was created as a merger of the predecessor organizations Communauté de communes du Pays d'Avesnes , Communauté de communes rurales des Deux Helpes and Communauté de communes des vallées de la Solre, de la Thure et de l'Helpe .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the municipality of Noyelles-sur-Sambre moved to the Communauté d'agglomération Maubeuge Val de Sambre .
