Etroeungt is a French commune with 1,319 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe , to the canton of Avesnes-sur-Helpe (until 2015: canton Avesnes-sur-Helpe-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Corbeteux .
geography
Étrœungt is about six kilometers south of Avesnes-sur-Helpe on the Helpe Mineure . Étrœungt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Haut-Lieu in the north and north-west, Avesnelles in the north, Sémeries in the north-east, Rainsars in the east, Féron in the east and south-east, Rocquiny in the south and south-east, La Flamengrie and Larouillies in the south, Floyon in the south-west and Boulogne -sur-Helpe in the west.
The national route 2 , which connects Paris with Brussels , runs through the municipality .
