Sars-Poteries is a French commune with 1,441 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe and the canton of Fourmies (until 2015: canton of Solre-le-Château ). The inhabitants are called Sarséens .
geography
Sars-Poteries is about twelve kilometers south-southeast of Maubeuge . Neighboring communities of Sars-Poteries are Dimont in the north, Lez-Fontaine in the north and northeast, Solre-le-Château in the east and northeast, Felleries in the south and Beugnies in the west.
The former route nationale 362 (today's D962) runs through the municipality .
