Hestrud is a commune in northern France . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Avesnes-sur-Helpe arrondissement , the Fourmies canton (until 2015: Solre-le-Château canton ) and the Cœur de l'Avesnois communal association (formerly Vallées de la Solre , de la Thure et de l'Helpe ). Hestrud borders Sivry-Rance in Belgium to the east . Therefore there is a customs museum ( Musée de la Douane ) here. The neighboring municipalities in France are Cousolre in the north, Beaurieux in the south, Solre-le-Château in the southwest and Bérelles in the west.

The former route nationale 362 leads via Hestrud.
