Bettignies is a commune in northern France . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Avesnes-sur-Helpe arrondissement and the Maubeuge canton ( canton Maubeuge-Nord until 2015 ). It borders Belgium in the north . The neighboring municipalities in France are Villers-Sire-Nicole in the east, Bersillies in the southeast, Mairieux in the south and La Longueville and Gognies-Chaussée in the southwest. The Route nationale 2 leads via Bettignies.
