Haut-Lieu is a French municipality with 391 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe , to the canton of Avesnes-sur-Helpe (until 2015: canton of Avesnes-sur-Helpe-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Hautlieusard (e) s .

geography

Haut-Lieu is about two kilometers southwest of the city center of Avesnes-sur-Helpes . Haut-Lieu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Hilaire-sur-Helpe in the north and north-west, Avesnes-sur-Helpe in the north, Avesnelles in the east, Étrœungt in the south and south-east, Boulogne-sur-Helpe in the south and south-east and Cartignies in the West and southwest.

Route nationale 2 runs along the eastern edge of the municipality .
