Baives is a commune in northern France . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Avesnes-sur-Helpe arrondissement and the Fourmies canton . Baives is the easternmost municipality in the north department. It borders on Wallers-en-Fagne to the west, Moustier-en-Fagne to the north and Belgium to the east and south . The residents call themselves Baivois or Baivoises.
