Bellignies is a French municipality with 827 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the canton of Aulnoye-Aymeries (until 2015 canton Bavay ) in the arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe . The residents call themselves Bellignois or Bellignoises.
geography
It borders Gussignies to the north, Houdain-lez-Bavay to the east, Saint-Waast to the south and Bettrechies to the west . The settlement area is on average 102 meters above sea level. The municipality is crossed by the Hogneau River.
