Grand-Fayt is a French municipality with 505 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe , to the canton of Avesnes-sur-Helpe (until 2015: canton Avesnes-sur-Helpe-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Fagusiens .

geography

Grand-Fayt is about nine kilometers west-southwest of Avesnes-sur-Helpe on the Helpe Mineure . Grand-Fayt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Maroilles in the north and west, Taisnières-en-Thiérache in the north and northeast, Marbaix in the east and northeast, Petit-Fayt in the south and east and Prisches in the south and southwest.
