Lez-Fontaine is a commune in northern France . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Avesnes-sur-Helpe arrondissement , the Fourmies canton (until 2015 Solre-le-Château canton ) and the Cœur de l'Avesnois (formerly Vallées de la Solre, de la Thure et de l'Helpe ). It borders on Dimechaux and Solrinnes to the north, Solre-le-Château to the east, Sars-Poteries to the south and southwest and Dimont to the west . The residents call themselves Lezfontainois or Lezfontainoises .
