Rousies is a French municipality with 4016 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe and the canton of Fourmies .

geography

Rousies is located on the Solre River , which flows into the Sambre at the northern municipal boundary . Rousies is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Assevent in the north, Recquignies in the east and northeast, Cerfontaine in the east and southeast, Ferrière-la-Grande in the south, Louvroil in the southwest and Maubeuge in the northwest.

The former Route nationale 49 runs through the municipality . Ferrière-la-Grande is on one of the Way of St. James (Via Gallia Belgica).
