Sassegnies is a commune in northern France . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Avesnes-sur-Helpe arrondissement and the Aulnoye-Aymeries canton (until 2015 Berlaimont canton ). It borders on Berlaimont to the north, Leval to the east, Noyelles-sur-Sambre to the south and Locquignol to the west .
