Bas-Lieu is a commune in northern France . It belongs to the Hauts-de-France region , the Nord department , the Avesnes-sur-Helpe arrondissement and the Fourmies canton ( Avesnes-sur-Helpe until 2015 ). It borders on Saint-Aubin (point of contact) to the north-west, Dourlers and Semousies to the north, Beugnies to the east, Flaumont-Waudrechies to the south-east, Avesnes-sur-Helpe to the south-west and Saint-Hilaire-sur-Helpe to the west . The settlement area is 180 meters above sea level. The residents call themselves Baslieusards or Baslieusardes.

The Route nationale 2 leads via Bas-Lieu.
