Colleret is a French commune with 1,615 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe and the canton of Fourmies (until 2015: canton of Maubeuge-Sud ).

geography

Colleret is about five kilometers east of Maubeuge on the border with Belgium . Colleret is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Recquignies in the north and northwest, Marpent in the north, Jeumont in the north and northeast, Erquelinnes (Belgium) in the east and northeast, Cousolre in the southeast, Aibes and Quiévelon in the south, Ferrière-la-Petite in the southwest and Cerfontaine in the West.
