Daniel Haas (born August 1, 1983 in Erlenbach am Main ) is a German soccer goalkeeper . He has been under contract with the German second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue since October 2016 .
Career
Club career
Youth and Eintracht Frankfurt
Haas started playing soccer at BSC Elsenfeld in 1987. From there he moved to the youth department of Eintracht Frankfurt in 1996 . In the 2001/02 season in the Oberliga Hessen Haas was used 15 times. In 2002 he moved up as a substitute goalkeeper in the professional team, but remained there without a commitment.
Hannover 96
After a season in the second division , Haas moved to Hannover 96 . In three seasons he was mainly in the amateur team that was playing in the Lower Saxony football league at the time . His only Bundesliga appearance was on the last day of the 2003/04 season against VfL Bochum .
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
In the summer of 2005, Haas was loaned to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in order to gain match practice in the regional league . After he had not played in the league under Hansi Flick , he worked out a regular place under Lorenz-Günther Köstner and later Ralf Rangnick .
After promotion to the second Bundesliga, he signed a two-year contract from the 2007/08 season with TSG Hoffenheim. On matchday 17, Haas was injured during the game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth . Ramazan Özcan was loaned out by Red Bull Salzburg as a replacement . Even after his injury had healed, Haas only had a place on the bench after being promoted to the Bundesliga until the 2008/09 season . After Özcan's performance was increasingly criticized, Haas returned to the Hoffenheimer Tor, but was replaced by newcomer Timo Hildebrand during the winter break and was only used as a replacement for Hildebrand until 2010. For the 2010/11 season , the club pledged to Hildebrand's departure as a new goalkeeper Tom Starke . Since he injured himself in the middle of the first half of the season, Haas returned to the Bundesliga.
In a test match against the regional division FSG Altendiez, Haas was used as a field player for the first time.
1. FC Union Berlin
The Haas contract, which expired in 2012, was not extended at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Haas then signed a contract with the second division club 1. FC Union Berlin , which is valid until 2014.
After the 2015/16 season he left 1. FC Union Berlin.
FC Erzgebirge Aue
After the injury of the regular goalkeeper Martin Männel , the contractless Daniel Haas was signed for the 2016/2017 season. Since October 2019, in addition to his job as Aues substitute keeper, he has been on an interim basis as a goalkeeping coach for the Saxons.
National team
He was appointed to the youth national teams of the DFB . On May 30, 2001, he was used in a preparation game for the 2001 World Youth Championship as a 17-year-old in the U-20 national team .
