Dániel Kóger ( Hungarian Kóger Dániel ; born November 10, 1989 in Székesfehérvár ) is a Hungarian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Austrian ice hockey league since 2014 .

Career

Dániel Kóger began his career in the youth division of Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in his hometown, for whom he was initially on the ice in the top Hungarian U18 division. In the 2006/07 season he also played for local rivals Fehérvári Titánok in the Hungarian League . He then moved to EC Red Bull Salzburg for two years . There he was used except in the U20 first in the second team and in his second season in the Austrian ice hockey league . In 2009 he returned to Székesfehérvár and won - in addition to the appearances in the Austrian league - with Alba Volán 2010 the Hungarian national championship . After this success, he embarked on a four-year tour of North America, where he played with the Laredo Bucks in the Central Hockey League , the Cincinnati Cyclones , the South Carolina Stingrays , the Bakersfield Condors , the Florida Everblades , the Toledo Walleye and the Elmira Jackals, respectively ECHL played. In the 2011/12 season he was also on loan for a total of 17 games for teams from the American Hockey League . In 2014 he returned to his hometown and has since played again for Alba Volán in the Austrian ice hockey league.

International

For Hungary , Kóger took part in the junior tournaments of the U18 World Championships in Division I in 2006 and 2007 in Division II as well as in the U20 World Championships in 2007 in Division II and in 2008 and 2009 in Division I.

In the senior division, he made his debut at the 2009 World Cup , when the Magyars competed in the top division for the first time in 70 years. After relegation, he played at the World Championships in Division I in 2010 , 2011 , 2014 and 2015 , when, as the best player in his team, he made a significant contribution to the promotion to the top division. At the 2016 World Cup , he played in the top division for the second time, from which the Magyars were immediately relegated despite a 5-2 win against Belarus . He played in Division I again at the 2017 and 2018 World Championships . He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010 , in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 .
