In 1996, George Lucas TM hired Christopher to help him completely re-cut the series. This resulted in 22 television films. The series' original title was also changed to The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones . Each film consists of two episodes, which were also arranged chronologically. The scenes with a reminiscing older Indian Jones (played by Harrison Ford ) have been removed except for episode 20. The plot of the movies Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom , Raiders of the Lost Ark , Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull follow in chronological order. The first three theatrical films were released in 1999 as home video re-releases on VHS and officially listed as 23rd to 25th serial .

The boy Henry Walton Jones, Jr. was born on July 1, 1899 in Princeton, New Jersey. Even in the playpen, he established a close relationship with the family dog (then still a puppy), Indiana . At the age of 9, Indy was taken over by his father, Professor Henry Jones, sr. Taken with his mother on a world tour to renowned universities. During a short stopover in England, where Indy's father had studied at Oxford University himself, Indy's father hired the private teacher Miss Hellen Seymour for Indy. Soon the journey continues to Egypt to the University of Cairo. When Indy goes on a trip with Miss Seymour, he meets TE Lawrence (who would later become known as "Lawrence of Arabia"). He stimulates his interest in archeology (Indy's later subject) and gives him valuable tips on how to learn the language of his host country if possible, because this opens many doors. With Mr. Lawrence, Indy takes part in an excavation of an Egyptian mummy whose grave is allegedly cursed. When a death occurs in the camp the night after the grave was opened, Indy and Mr. Lawrence investigate the death. When they were able to clarify that a member of the excavation team had committed the murder to cover up a grave robbery, Indy travels with his parents to Tangier and continues his first adventure there. | ||||
