Location and organization

The hospital is located north of the Gawèye district in the Niamey V arrondissement . Administratively, it forms a separate city district (French: quartier ).

The district hospital Gawèye is responsible for the care of the population of the health district Niamey V, which corresponds in area to the arrondissement of the same name. Niger's health districts are used to plan, implement and monitor national health policy. The Gawèye district hospital is the central facility in Niamey V. There are also ten health centers (centers de santé intégrés) in the district. The Lamordé National Hospital , also located in Niamey V, unlike the facilities in the health district, is not subject to the municipal administration, but to the state administration. The other health districts in Niamey do not have their own district hospitals.

The hospital is divided into six departments for the following areas:

It has a total of 56 beds and treated over 3,000 patients per trimester in 2016.
