Lamordé National Hospital

The National Hospital Lamordé ( French : Hôpital national de Lamordé ) is a hospital in the city of Niamey in Niger .

Location and organization

The Lamordé National Hospital is located in the Niamey V arrondissement between the Lamordé district and the site of the Abdou Moumouni University Niamey . From an administrative point of view , it forms its own urban district (quartier) , which is also recorded separately in censuses. In the 2012 census there were 300 inhabitants in 12 households. The National Hospital covers an area of ​​10 hectares , of which 2.5 hectares are built on. It has a capacity of 269 beds and employs 513 people (as of 2015).

The facility is a national reference hospital and a teaching hospital . It reports to the Ministry of Health. Along with the Niamey National Hospital and the Zinder National Hospital, it is one of Niger's three national hospitals. With the district hospital Gawèye there is another important hospital in the Arrondissement Niamey V.

history

The hospital was founded on January 12, 1984 as a university clinic under the name Center Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) . On January 10, 1986, it was placed under the Ministry of Health and received its current name. The National Hospital Lamordé has since 6 April 1992, the form of a body governed by public law of administrative nature (Établissement public à caractère Administratif) . This gave it financial autonomy.
