Birniol

Birniol is a hamlet in the Niamey V arrondissement of the city of Niamey in Niger .

The hamlet is located in the north-west of the Niamey V rural area on National Road 4 . It lies in a narrow strip of relatively flat land between the Niger River and a rocky range of hills with exposed laterite , which behind Birniol reaches an altitude of 258  m . The rural community of Bitinkodji extends to the west of Birniol, and to the south-east lies the Niamey village of Kossey .

Birniol already existed in the 1970s when the city of Niamey began to expand to the right bank of the Niger.

At the 2012 census, Birniol had 248 residents who lived in 30 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 361 in 54 households
