Ganguel (also: Guinguel , Kangel ) is a village in the Niamey V arrondissement of the city of Niamey in Niger .

The village, run by a traditional chief (chef traditionnel) , is located on national road 4 leading to Téra in the north-west of the rural area of ​​Niamey V. The surrounding settlements include the village of Kossey in the north-west, the village of Kourtéré Samboro in the east and the village of Kourtéré Boubacar Péage in the southeast and the hamlet of Kolonsa in the west. The 17 kilometer long dry valley Kourtéré Gorou runs near Ganguel , which flows into the Niger River behind the village of Kourtéré Samboro . The soils in Ganguel consist of sandy loam. Local fruit trees such as mangoes , guavas , papayas and citrus plants as well as exotic trees such as eucalyptus and neem trees , as well as horseradish trees and miracle trees grow on the farms . Sand mallow and Cenchrus biflorus , among others, thrive in the herb layer .

Ganguel already existed in the 1970s when the city of Niamey began to expand to the right bank of the Niger. The village was still part of the Kollo arrondissement at the end of the 20th century until it was incorporated into Niamey.

At the 2012 census, Ganguel had 303 residents who lived in 43 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 214 in 32 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 1,241 in 174 households.

There is a primary school in the village.
