The Divizia Națională 2000/01 was the tenth season of the Moldovan top division in men's football . Master became Sheriff Tiraspol for the first time . The season began on July 22nd, 2000 and ended on June 12th, 2001. From the beginning of November 2000 to the beginning of March 2001 the game was closed ( winter break ).

Relegation
On June 18, 2000, the relegation game between FC Haiducul Sporting Hînceşti , the seventh of the Divizia Națională and Petrocub-Condor Sărata-Galbenă , the third of Divizia A should take place. Haiducul Sporting did not appear and Petrocub-Condor then took over the league place and changed its name to FC Hînceşti.
