East Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pinellas County in the US state of Florida with 30,962 inhabitants (as of 2010).

East Lake is directly adjacent to the towns of Oldsmar (south) and Tarpon Springs (west) is about 5 km northeast of Clearwater and about 20 km northwest of Tampa . The CDP is affected by Florida State Road 584 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 30,962 inhabitants were distributed over 14,984 households. The population density was 413.4 inh / km². 92.3% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.6% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 3.5% as Asian Americans . 0.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.7% to several ethnic groups. 5.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 33.4% of all households lived in 27.4% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 69.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.65 people and the average family size was 2.83 people.

22.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 15.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 34.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 28.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 48 years. 47.8% of the population were male and 52.2% were female.

The median annual income was $ 71,019, with 6.5% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 89.95% of the population, 3.53% spoke Spanish and 6.52% had another mother tongue.
