Indian Shores is a city in Pinellas County in the US state of Florida with 1420 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Indian Shores is located on a barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway . The city is bordered by Indian Rocks Beach to the north and Redington Shores to the south . Indian Shores is approximately 10 km south of Clearwater and approximately 35 km west of Tampa .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 1420 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 2464 households, most of which are holiday homes used as second homes. The population density was 1577.8 inh / km². 96.5% of the population identified themselves as white , 0.4% as African American and 1.2% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.8% to several ethnic groups. 6.0% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 48.8% of all households lived in 6.7% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 54.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.75 people and the average family size was 2.23 people.
6.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 10.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 51.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 61 years. 49.2% of the population were male and 50.8% were female.
The median annual income was $ 54,271, with 8.4% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 93.48% of the population, 4.35% spoke Spanish and 2.17% spoke German .
