South Pasadena is a city in Pinellas County in the US state of Florida with 4964 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
South Pasadena is located on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and is directly adjacent to the cities of Gulfport , St. Pete Beach and St. Petersburg . The city is about 20 km south of Clearwater and about 35 km southwest of Tampa .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 4964 inhabitants were distributed over 4619 households. The population density was 2757.8 inh / km². 95.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.8% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 1.1% as Asian Americans . 0.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.6% to several ethnic groups. 3.2% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 4.1% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 66.4% of all households. 32.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.46 people and the average family size was 2.20 people.
4.0% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 9.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 19.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 67.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 69 years. 41.1% of the population were male and 58.9% were female.
The median annual income was $ 34,649, with 9.7% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 93.55% of the population, 2.03% spoke Spanish and 4.42% had another mother tongue.
