Oldsmar is a city in Pinellas County in the US state of Florida with 13,591 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Oldsmar is about 5 km northeast of Clearwater and about 15 km west of Tampa . Adjacent towns are Westchase ( Hillsborough County ) and Safety Harbor .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 13,591 inhabitants were distributed over 5,338 households. The population density was 604 inhabitants / km². 84.0% of the population identified themselves as white , 5.4% as African-American , 0.2% as Native American and 5.9% as Asian Americans . 2.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.4% to several ethnic groups. 11.4% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 21.6% of all households lived in 35.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 69.1% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.97.

26.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 17.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 48.0% of the population were male and 52.0% were female.

The median annual income was $ 53,149, with 11.5% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 89.35% of the population, 4.96% spoke Spanish and 5.69% had another mother tongue.

The crime rate in 2010 was 256 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There were six rapes, seven robberies, 23 assaults, 78 break-ins, 376 thefts and 21 car thefts.
