Belleair is a city in Pinellas County in the US state of Florida with 3869 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Belleair is located on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and is directly adjacent to the towns of Largo , Belleair Bluffs and Clearwater . Belleair Beach is on the opposite barrier island . The city is about 30 km west of Tampa .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 3869 inhabitants were distributed over 2323 households. The population density was 841.1 inh / km². 96.0% of the population identified themselves as white, 0.8% as African-American , 0.2% as Native American and 1.6% as Asian Americans . 0.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.9% to several ethnic groups. 3.3% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 46.5% of all households lived in 18.4% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 60.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.06 people and the average family size was 2.65 people.

17.0% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 10.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 41.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 55 years. 46.4% of the population were male and 53.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 70,179, with 3.6% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 93.82% of the population, 2.96% spoke Spanish and 3.22% had another mother tongue.

On May 6, 1994, the Old Belleair Town Hall was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .

The crime rate in 2010 was 67 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There was one assault, ten break-ins, 39 thefts and two car thefts.
