Belleair Beach is a city in Pinellas County in the US state of Florida with 1,560 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Belleair Beach is located on a barrier island between the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico . The city is bordered to the north by Clearwater , to the south by Indian Rocks Beach and to the west by Belleair Shore . Belleair Beach is about 30 km west of Tampa .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 1560 inhabitants were distributed among 1167 households. The population density was 1300 inh / km². 95.7% of the population identified themselves as whites , 0.4% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 1.0% as Asian Americans . 0.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 3.7% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 14.7% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 44.9% of all households. 67.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.08 people and the average family size was 2.49 people.

13.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 10.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 44.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 58 years. 48.3% of the population were male and 51.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 77,083, with 6.1% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 94.22% of the population, 3.06% spoke Spanish and 2.72% had another mother tongue.

crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 140 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There was one rape, three assaults, six break-ins, 22 thefts and one car theft.
