St. Pete Beach is a city in Pinellas County in the US state of Florida with 9,346 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
St. Pete Beach is located on a barrier island off the Gulf Coast of Florida and borders directly on the cities of Saint Petersburg and South Pasadena . The city is about 20 km south of Clearwater and about 35 km southwest of Tampa .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 9,346 inhabitants were distributed over 5,294 households. The population density was 1611.4 inh / km². 96.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 0.7% as African-Americans , 0.3% as Indians and 1.1% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.0% to several ethnic groups. 4.4% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 42.1% of all households lived in 10.8% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 50.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.76 people and the average family size was 2.41 people.
10.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 13.7% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 43.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 56 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.
The median annual income was $ 61,875, with 9.5% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 88.31% of the population, 3.15% spoke Lithuanian and 8.54% had another mother tongue.

The crime rate in 2010 was 364 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There were six rapes, five robberies, 24 bodily harm, 152 break-ins, 364 thefts, 16 car thefts and three arson attacks.
