history
The beginnings of broadcasting in Algeria go back to the Colin house, a musical instrument shop. The first broadcasts took place in 1923 (callsign 8DB), from December 1925 under the names Radio Alger and Radio Algérie . In 1926 Radio Alger PTT started operations. The Lucerne Wave Plan of 1932 assigned Algeria the frequency 941 kHz (12 kW). During the Second World War, it was renamed Radio France in 1943 , before the station was incorporated into the French radio station Radiodiffusion Française (RDF) in 1945/46 .
After Algeria's independence in 1962, Radiodiffusion Télévision Algérienne (RTA) was founded. In 1986 there was a split into four companies, including Radio Algeria . It is broadcast in Arabic , in the Berber language Kabyle and in French . In March 2007, Radio Algeria started the international broadcaster Radio Algeria International .
