Scherstetten is a municipality in the Swabian district of Augsburg and a member of the Stauden administrative community based in Langenneufnach .

The community is located in the southwest of the Augsburg district in the middle of the perennials . The perennials form the main part of the Augsburg Western Forests Nature Park . The Schmutter flows east of Scherstetten and the Schweinbach to the west .

history

Until the church is planted

The castle complex, which no longer exists, was owned by the Knights of Scherstetten, ministers of the Augsburg bishop , who had their seat here until 1370. In the Middle Ages, the Heilig-Geist-Spital Augsburg owned two thirds of the area of ​​the place, other parts belonged to the imperial monastery St. Ulrich and Afra . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria. In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Between 1988 and 2018, the community grew from 912 to 1,043 by 131 inhabitants or 14.4%.

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Konradshofen was incorporated.

The municipal council of Scherstetten has been made up of twelve members since 2002. Another member and chairman of the municipal council is the mayor. The local elections on March 15, 2020 brought the following result:

  • Konradshofen community: 4 seats (35.5%).
