Euro Hockey Challenge 2017
The Euro Hockey Challenge 2017 was the sixth edition of the competition of the same name organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . The competition started on April 6, 2017 and ended on May 1, 2017. The games of the Euro Hockey Challenge served as preparation for the World Cup in Germany and France in 2017 for the national teams .
Attendees
The twelve best European teams in the IIHF world rankings that took part in the World Cup in Germany and France were eligible to participate.
For the 2017 event, these were: Russia , Finland , Sweden , the Czech Republic , Switzerland , Slovakia , Belarus , Germany , Norway , Latvia , Denmark and France
mode
The game was played in a three-point system, which means that each team received three points for a win, two points for an overtime win and one point for a defeat after extra time.
During the tournament, each team played a total of eight games. As a rule, two games were played between two teams within two or three days in one country. All games were recorded in a table.
Due to the revival of the Euro Hockey Tour in the 2016/2017 season, the Czech Hockey Games took place on the 4th match day , in which the four national teams from Russia, Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic took part. The results of the tournament were included in the evaluation of the Euro Hockey Challenge. Since all teams only played three games each, two games from the Sweden Hockey Games from February 2017 were also included in the rating.
