Euro Hockey Challenge 2014

The Euro Hockey Challenge 2014 was the fourth edition of the competition of the same name organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . The competition began on April 9, 2014 and ended on April 27, 2014. The games of the Euro Hockey Challenge served as preparation for the World Cup in Belarus in 2014 for the national teams .

The twelve best European teams in the IIHF world rankings were eligible to participate .

The game was played in a three-point system, that is, each team received three points for a win, two points for an overtime win and one point for a defeat after extra time.

Each team played six games during the tournament. As a rule, two games were played between two teams within two or three days in one country. All games were recorded in a table.

The twelve participating nations were divided into four pools. The teams from pool A met all teams from pool D and the teams from pool B met those from pool C.

The second game between Sweden and Norway was interrupted due to ice problems in the 9th minute when the score was 1-0. After several unsuccessful attempts at repairs, the game was abandoned and the game was decided in a shootout .
