Euro Hockey Challenge 2018
The Euro Hockey Challenge 2018 was the seventh edition of the competition of the same name organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . The competition started on April 4, 2018 and ended on April 29, 2018. The Euro Hockey Challenge games served as preparation for the World Cup in Denmark in 2018 for the national teams .
Attendees
The twelve best European teams in the IIHF world rankings that took part in the World Cup in Denmark are eligible to participate.
For the 2018 event, these are: Russia , Sweden , Finland , the Czech Republic , Germany , Switzerland , Norway , Slovakia , Belarus , France , Latvia and Denmark .
mode
The game is played in a three-point system, i.e. each team receives three points for a win, two points for an overtime win and one point for a defeat after extra time.
During the tournament, each team plays a total of eight games. As a rule, two games are played between two teams within two or three days in one country. All games are recorded in a table.
Due to the revival of the Euro Hockey Tour since the 2016/2017 season, the Czech Hockey Games will take place on the third match day , in which the four national teams from Russia, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic will take part. The results of the tournament are included in the evaluation of the Euro Hockey Challenge. Since all teams only play three games each, two games of the Sweden Hockey Games (Russia – Czech Republic, Sweden – Finland), which take place on the 4th day of the game, are also included in the rating.
