    The euro region Cieszyn Silesia ( Polish Euro Region Śląsk Cieszyński , Czech Euro-region Těšín Silesia ) is a well-founded on 22 April 1998 euro area in the northeastern border region between the Czech Republic and Poland on the river Olsa around the Twin Cities Český Těšín (Czech) and Cieszyn (Polish) called Cieszyn Silesia .

Outside the Euroregion remained 29% of the territory of the historical landscape and over 30% of the population.

    In 2011, Poles made up the absolute majority in the Polish part of the Euroregion. The information on the Silesian nationality in the census counted a total of 2864, 1000 of them in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, 928 in the Godów municipality and 936 within historical Cieszyn Silesia. The second largest minority were 431 Germans. In total, there was 1.2% of non-Polish responses in the Polish part, with 7.4% in the Godów municipality. On the Czech side the largest minority is Polish, in 2001 from 2.2% in Hrčava to 42.8% in Hrádek nad Olší , in 30 municipalities over 10%, a total of 37,117 in the Karviná (7.02%) and the districts total Frýdek-Místek (7.62%). In the northern part around Karviná , on the other hand, there were more Slovaks (15,948 or 5.88% in total in Okres Karviná) and Moravians (3591 or 1.32% in Okres Karviná) than Poles and Silesians (1963 or 0.72%). in Okres Karviná). In both districts, 667 residents declared themselves German. In general, the Czech part is much more culturally heterogeneous, although over 80% were Czech, there are also visible minorities of the Roma , Vietnamese and also many more people who did not state any nationality (from 12.9% in Milikov to 28.9% in Doubrava).
