Due to the increase in the extra league to 14 teams, the qualification mode for the play-offs will be changed. The 14 teams will be divided into two regional groups. In 40 games, all teams initially play a double round, i.e. 13 home and away games. This is followed by 7 more home and away games within the groups. The teams in places 1 to 4 qualify directly for the play-offs, which will be played in the best-of-seven mode . The teams in places 5 to 12 determine the other 4 participants for the quarter-finals in best-of-five mode. At the end of the season there is a relegation round, in which the two last-placed teams of the extra league and the winners of the play-off semi-finals of the first division take part. In a double round with twelve games per team, the two relegated teams to the first division are determined.
