Francisco "Kiko" Femenía Far (born February 2, 1991 in Sanet y Negrals ) is a Spanish football player . The full-back has been under contract with the Premier League club Watford FC since July 2017 .

Career

After he had already played for the youth teams of Hércules Alicante , Kiko Femenía made his debut for the professional team of the second division on June 15, 2008 against FC Cádiz . The game ended in a 1-1 draw and fixed the opponent's relegation . The Andalusians then lodged a complaint against this result due to the unauthorized use of the debutant, but this was unsuccessful. During the 2008/09 season he signed his first professional contract with Hércules. During this season he was used more and more and was allowed to celebrate Alicante's successful return to the Primera División after 13 years of abstinence. On August 28, 2010, he played his first appearance in Spain's top division when he came on for Abel Aguilar in the game against Athletic Bilbao .

On July 6, 2011, he moved to FC Barcelona B for a transfer fee of two million euros . On September 4, he scored his first goal for his new club in the game against Cartagena FC . In two years at Barcelona he made 62 league appearances for the B team, but not a single one with the professionals.

On August 26, 2013, Barcelona released the full -back. Femenía said that the disregard of the professional team coaches Pep Guardiola and Tito Vilanova ruined his morale. Just a few hours later, he signed a contract with Real Madrid Castilla . He was also not considered in the A selection with the royal team. After he only played five missions for the reserve team in one year, his contract was terminated by mutual agreement on September 1, 2014.

In January 2015 Femenía signed a six month contract with AD Alcorcón in the Segunda División. After good performances in the Alcorcón jersey, he signed after his contact with league competitor Deportivo Alavés , a club from the Basque Country-Basque capital Vitoria-Gasteiz . With five goals in 38 appearances, he contributed significantly to promotion to the Primera División.

On July 1, 2017, Kiko Femenía moved to the Premier League club Watford FC on a free transfer . He made his league debut on August 12 when he came on as a substitute for Daryl Janmaat in the 3-3 draw against Liverpool .
