Special position
The western districts of Frankfurt enjoy a special position within the city, which go back to the incorporation agreement of April 1, 1928. First, a district administration was set up in Frankfurt-Höchst, which guaranteed the districts a relatively independent administration. This was dissolved after the Second World War . Since then there has been a separate department in the magistrate for matters relating to the western parts of the city. It has been headed by the respective Lord Mayor of Frankfurt since 1966.
