Finals

Switzerland initially applied to host group and knockout games with St. Jakob-Park in Basel , but then withdrew. In the draw on November 30, 2019, the Swiss of the group with Italy, against which they played the most games, were drawn to Turkey and Wales. The record against Italy is negative with eight wins, 22 draws and 28 defeats. The last defeat against the Italians was on May 1, 1993. Then there were four defeats and four draws. Against the Turks there were four wins, three draws and eight defeats, the last one being lost at the home European championship in 2008 against Turkey and winning in November 2005. Against Wales, the record is positive with five wins and two defeats. The last game between the two in October 2011 was lost 2-0, which meant that the Swiss missed the 2012 European Championship.

If the Swiss were group winners, they would - subject to the retention of the venues - play in London against the runner-up in Group C with the Netherlands, Austria and the Ukraine, in second place in the first round of 16 in Amsterdam against the second in Group B, e.g. B. Belgium, Denmark or Russia. If they were one of the four best third, were either the winners of Group B, Group E with Spain and the winner of Group F with Germany, world champion France and defending champions Portugal opponents in the second round, and then in Bilbao , Bucharest or Glasgow play would .
