This article is about the Swedish women's national soccer team at the 2009 European Championship in Finland .

qualification

Sweden was for the qualification are in Group 2 and met Ireland , Italy , Romania and Hungary . With eight wins, the Swedes were group winners without conceding a goal. In the 7-0 win in Romania, Victoria Svensson scored five goals alone and managed a hat trick within 13 minutes .

Italy prevailed against the Czech Republic in the play-off games and also qualified for the European Championship finals. Ireland, on the other hand, had to admit defeat to Iceland .

Squad

Sweden coach Thomas Dennerby nominated his squad for the European Championship on July 28, 2009. On August 14, 2009 Dennerby nominated for Linda Sembrant Karin Lissel, who was dropped out because of a thigh injury . Two days later, Linda Forsberg was also out with a thigh injury. Petra Larsson was appointed to the squad for her.
