life and career

Gjon Muharremaj grew up in Switzerland, but his parents are from Albania and Kosovo. According to a statement, these influences are also very important to him. His stage name Gjon's Tears is based on a childhood experience: when he was nine years old, he moved his grandfather to tears with a performance of Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love . It was also his grandfather who signed him up for Albania's Got Talent in 2011 , where he finished third. The following year Gjon's Tears took part in The Greatest Swiss Talents , where he was eliminated in the semifinals. During a six-year break from television, he went to the Conservatory in Bulle, where he studied classical singing. He also yodeled and learned Indian and Chinese singing.
