Beer stabilization system

Handtmann Armaturenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG produces fittings , valves and process systems for the beverage industry, for biotechnology companies and for the chemical-pharmaceutical industry. The fittings factory emerged from the brass foundry founded in 1873 and has been an independent company since 1982.

Process fittings such as rotary flaps or double-seat valves are manufactured for hygienically safe processes and safe media separation, depending on the application . For tank filling, gassing and thermal fluid expansion are with security - and vacuum valves tank bottom and tank against both over- and against pressure hedged. Furthermore, yeast and wort ventilation, pipe fences, panels and valve blocks as well as CIP systems are produced.

The filtration and separation is on the areas of filtration technology, beer stabilization and systems for functional foods specializing -Fabrication. Systems for beer stabilization are based on the targeted adsorption of high molecular weight polyphenols to gently extend the shelf life of the beer. Systems for CIP media filtration for alkali recycling in the food and beverage industry are manufactured on the basis of cross-flow filter technology. Systems for protein production in the food industry work according to the chromatography process and are implemented using radial flow column technology.

In the area of project management , new constructions and conversions of systems are planned and implemented. This includes flow charts, specifications and scheduling as well as the control and the corresponding control cabinets for complete process systems.

Machining centers

Profile machining center PBZ HD

Handtmann A-Punkt Automation GmbH in Baienfurt is another company in the group of companies. This company has been developing and manufacturing CNC- controlled high-speed multi-axis machining centers at the Baienfurt location since 1989 . The four product lines produced are mainly used in the aerospace industry , but also in the model - forms - and tooling used.

Handtmann profile machining centers (PBZ) are manufactured for high-precision 5-axis HSC profile machining of titanium , steel , aluminum and composites with a length of up to 30 meters. The series (PBZ SC, PBZ NT, PBZ ST, PBZ HD) are equipped, depending on their design, with a stationary or moving portal , with a machining table or vice system, automation solutions and work space separation.

The modular machine concept of the Universal Machining Centers (UBZ) product line with a moving machining table and stationary portal enables 5-axis HSC machining of components with maximum dimensions of 12 × 2 meters in the materials titanium, steel, aluminum and composite. By installing various automation systems such as a gantry loader which takes place Upgrade already while a workpiece is processed (primary processing time). The travel speeds of the machines are 60 m / min (in X / Y / Z) and for the milling spindles a max. 30,000 min -1 , max. 180 kW and max. 3000 Nm.

The 5-axis HSC high-portal machining centers of the Gantry series are specially designed for machining large-volume components up to 47 × 7 meters made of titanium, steel, aluminum and composite. With the stationary table and the portal moving above, the workpiece rests, which enables maximum precision and dynamics to be achieved over a large area. The four machine types (Gantry RS, Gantry VS, Gantry CS, Gantry TS) of the modular gantry machine concept allow a multitude of additional options (e.g. two milling spindles, two Y-portals, double table, work area separation).

The main characteristics of the 5-axis HSC horizontal machining centers are horizontally arranged milling spindles and a machining table (pallet or NC swivel rotary table) that is usually positioned vertically during machining. The HBZ line comprises the series HBZ Trunnion (table sizes ø 800 mm, 1200 mm, 1600 mm), HBZ CompactCell (table sizes: 2 × 1 m, 3 × 1 m, 4 × 1 m) and HBZ AeroCell (pallet sizes: 4 × 2 m, 5 × 2 m, 6 × 2 m and 7 × 2 m; as well as an integrated pallet changing system).

As part of a management buy-out, Walter AP Holding GmbH acquired all shares in Handtmann A-Punkt Automation GmbH from Albert Handtmann Holding GmbH & Co. KG on August 31, 2017.
