IC 818 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 209 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies IC 820 , IC 821 , IC 822 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on May 18, 1892 .
