IC 821 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 301 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 818 , IC 820 , IC 822 .
The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on March 18, 1892 .
