IC 822 is a galaxy of Hubble type S? in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 833 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter. She is considered a member of the Coma galaxy cluster Abell 1656 .
The galaxies IC 818 , IC 820 , IC 821 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on March 18, 1892 .
