IC 835 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 340 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4821 , NGC 4849 , IC 834 , IC 837 .
The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on February 24, 1892 .
