IC 835 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 340 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4821 , NGC 4849 , IC 834 , IC 837 .

The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on February 24, 1892 .
