IC 834 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E4? in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 290 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 45,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4849 , IC 832 , IC 835 , IC 837 .
The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on February 24, 1892 .
