IC 832 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 316 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4787 , NGC 4789 , IC 831 , IC 834 .
The object was discovered by Truman Henry Safford on May 16, 1866 .
