IC 827 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Coma Berenices the northern sky . It is estimated to be 290 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light-years across.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 19, 1892 .
