IC 837 is an elliptical radio galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 324 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4821 , NGC 4859 , IC 834 , IC 835 .
The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on February 24, 1892 .
